I need help with Immigration and Lawyer Fees

I'm an immigrant who was with someone for over 8 years, and in two of those years, I was married to him. However, he was abusive towards me. He was very controlling of almost every aspect of my life, even with who I hung out with, would stalk me online, threatened to deport and withdraw his sponsorship so that I could become a US citizen through marriage, and then he kicked me out of the apartment two times. A couple of days after he kicked me out the second time, he came to my workplace with a letter claiming that he was sorry for what he had done and that he wanted me back. I didn't respond, and because of that, he withdrew his petition and then started a very lengthy and nasty divorce process, claiming he should get an annulment claiming I was committing immigration fraud when that wasn't the case. Luckily, the annulment turned into a dissolution, and have been divorced since March of 2023.

Because of what I experienced, I am able to self-petition to become of legal status through VAWA (Violence Against Women Act). What is stopping me from moving forward with my lawyer is the lack of funds for ongoing lawyer fees as well as additional immigration costs such as a medical exam, background check, and two passport photos. This has also prevented me from buying groceries as well as paying my bills on time.

I have about the end of the year to submit all of my paperwork to USCIS with my lawyer because once an immigrant gets divorced from their spouse, they have about two years after the divorce has been granted to self-petition through VAWA.
