Tawnia Wright memorial fund

Tawnia Wright had been fighting CMML, a form of lukemia, for the past eight years. Her first bone marrow transplant done at the Cleveland Clinic was unuccessful, and her lukemia returned early in 2017. Tawnia's drive and health were enough to warrant a second transplant, which was done in May again at the Cleveland Clinic.

Between her transplants and other challenges Tawnia spent many weeks up on the 11th floor of the Cleveland Clinic; G-110. The nurses, doctors and staff there were highly professional, compassionate and helped make for a great transplant procedure. When she was up for walking around we would head to the family room to get some sun and a different place to relax or play games.

Recently Tawnia struggled with graft vs. host disease, and she spent several weeks again up at G-110 before complications required her to move to the ICU, where she passed shortly thereafter surrounded by family who loved her very much.

The family room Tawnia had spent so much time in had an outdated TV which we replaced two years ago, but they need much more to help make it a comforting place for patients and family to regroup. We would like to use whatever donations to help provide a new gaming console, sound bar and other games for families to enjoy.

Tawnia leaves behind a loving and heartbroken young daughter Katie and husband John.
