This is my mother Ms. Toria. She is 47 and I am soon to be 21. All she has done my entire life is work hard to provide for me, shelter me, and inspire me to overcome my mental health problems. Recently, she became ill with COVID. She showed symptoms for weeks but she was reluctant to get tested because of her motherly instinct to make sure I was okay at home. She finally got tested after her health began to decline and the results came back positive. She went to the hospital hopeful that it would be a quick visit, only a week there. It has now been a week and a half and things have escalated terribly. She was put on a ventilator february 22nd after not doing well with the other oxygen breathing apparatuses. Her lungs are extremely weak. She already has a history of pulmonary problems such as sarcoidosis, and has a pacemaker keeping her heart beating. I'm not ready to lose my mom yet. I have decided to donate parts of my lungs and possibly a kidney to her to aid in her recovery. But the transplant procedure is costly. Currently she is stable on the ventilator so there is hope. COVID permanently damages the lungs and I dont want her living with that scarring for the rest of her life. She has done so much for me. Now it is my turn to help her. Please help me give my mom a longer life.
