Gary Johns Motor Cycle Accident

Wednesday night October 18th, Gary Johns wrecked his motor cycle hitting a 6x6 and two other fence post before coming to a stop, leaving him busted up pretty good. He shattered his hip, his pelvis, knee and all the ribs on the left side are broken. He under went a 10 hour surgery October 20th. Originally, the docs said it would be about 6 months before Gary could return to work. After the surgery and seeing the damage that had really been done, it was determined that he won’t be able to return to work. The doctors will be signing off for him to get disability. However, in the few short months to come, Susie will be the only one able to provide money for bills as she is will also taking care of Gary and traveling back and forth to Shands in Gainesville. Money is already tight, and anything anyone could do to help will the bills and travel expenses, would be greatlyI appreciated. This is a humbling experience for the whole family while also being a tremendous burden on Susie. He is currently on a ventilator and feeding tube and has gotten pneumonia on top of it all. It could possibly take 6 months, to a year for financial help to kick in, hoping for sooner, but you know how the system works. As of now, Susie doesn’t wanna leave his side, his condition has been very unstable, fromGood one minute to issues the next. Gary and Susie have worked a life time to acquire the very little they have. Once is battle with ICU ends, PT and the long road to recovery begins which require a ton more traveling to and from Shands in Gainesville.
