Tattered Cover- CS Store Closure & Staff Layoff

Hi, my name is Spencer and I am fundraising to help the staff of the Tattered Cover Bookstore in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My team and I opened TC-COS in June of 2022 and built a beautiful bookstore, bar, and cafe. We connected with the community, provided a safe space, and championed literacy and free speech. However, on Monday, October 16th, 2023 we found out that our company was filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and closing three locations. We closed the same week. There are seven staff members that have been effected by this sudden tragedy. We not only lost our store and community but our income as well. I am partnering with the Binc Foundation which will match a percentage of what we raise. Here is a description of Binc:

"Binc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to assisting booksellers in need. The Binc Foundation grew out of a wish of bookstore employees to establish a fund to help their colleagues experiencing unexpected financial crises. Binc is dedicated to assisting bookstore and comic store employees across the United States in their greatest time of need."

I am confident that we can raise enough money to ease the financial burden of the affected staff. I am hoping to raise the money to help with food, rent, bills & utilities. I hope that you can help out our amazing staff if able. Thank you for your generosity.
