Tate family house fire

As many of you know Mr. and Mrs. Tate lost their house due to a fire on Friday. There are a lot of people reaching out to my homeless ministry asking if I’m doing anything to help them. Yes. The Tate’s are like family to me. Ms Charlotte is a momma figure to me and it breaks my heart that they have lost everything that they own. I thank God that they are OK themselves, some materiel things can be replaced in time. They had no homeowners insurance so this is really going to be a long journey for them. Both Mr. and Mrs. Tate are on disability and have many health issues. Living on a low income budget with very little money to spare they were no longer able to pay for homeowners insurance. They just could not afford it. This months check had already been spent on the bills that were due before the fire and now there are many expenses to be coming up this week. All of their medication, eye glasses, insulin supplies, medical equipment, etc have to be replaced immediately. They will have to pay for some of this out of pocket. The Red Cross gave them vouchers for a hotel and those will be used up within in a few days. All of that being said I am asking you all to pass along my PayPal account and this go fund me page. If anyone would like to donate for the cost of living for the next few weeks/months it would be greatly appreciated. I am working with them to find a place to rent temporarily until they figure out what to do about the house/lot. It’s so devastating to have a house fire. It’s so permanent. Nothing can be salvaged. Everything is lost. Every baby picture, every legal document, every material thing they owned. And not only did they lose their home together of all these years of marriage. But Ms Charlotte lost her childhood home. That was her family’s home that she was raised in and raised her children there as well. And it’s gone. Just every bit of it is gone.

I am also looking for suggestions on how to clear the land and possibly rebuild. Are there any local groups that do community projects like this? If we raise the money for an ebox type dumpster would people from the community be willing to come volunteer to help load it?? Is there some kind of contractor association that could help as a community project?? Aren’t there tv shows that do this?! Anyone have connections there?! I don’t know. I’m just brainstorming. This is a family in need. This is our community. Life long residents of Collierville. A preacher. A mother/father, grandparents, and “family” to many of us from here. I know in my heart that God’s got this. My faith is strong and so are the Tate’s.
