Taste of Korea Chicago Festival

Donation protected
Greetings from the 2019 Taste of Korea Chicago Festival Planning Committee!

We wish to extend an invitation for you to attend the "3rd Annual Taste of Korea Festival." At the Festival, we will feast on authentic and fusion Korean cuisine, showcase several merchandise vendors on a July weekend jam-packed with traditional and contemporary Korean entertainment. Highlights include the NEW International Changwon K-POP Dance and Singing Contests, the furious BBoy and BGirl Battle and an Opening Ceremony honoring our Korean War Veterans.

We built it, and the people came. This July, we want to do it again.

A group of like-minded individuals with the love for Korea, who are #KoreanAtHeart came together to organize and execute this event together. We currently are planning to make a grander event, and we need your help to successfully showcase TOK Chicago Festival.

What is TOK Chicago?

Taste of Korea Chicago Festival is a two-day community festival committed to promoting the Korean culture through a variety of cultural events and fun-filled experiences.

TOK Chicago is a free community event highlighting the unique qualities of Korea to visitors, residents, families and businesses. The festival will provide a variety of activities for all ages by exploring the local and regional music and arts, history, culture and natural surroundings of Chicago in an entertaining and educational atmosphere.

We will create opportunities for businesses and non-profit organizations to support the community, thereby helping develop the growth and vitality of the Korean community and to preserve the Korean heritage for future generations.

Date: Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21, 2019
Times: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Location: Old Orchard Mall Westfield, WEST LOT in Skokie, IL

Why do we need your help?

To simply put it, it’s the cash. Organizing a festival is “expensive.” Costs run from renting the venue, stage, tents, tables, chairs and booths, to hiring the sound and light engineers, advertising and promotion. And of course, compensating the talented musicians and performers, and all the other items people don't think of such as the security, dumpsters and port-o-potties. It all adds up and gets quite pricey.

The admission is free for the public to attend and to watch all the talented performers on stage from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. TOK invites people who want to know more about Korea and for those who are #KoreanAtHeart.

This is where you can help. Your contributions can support us to meet those significant expenses. The more support we receive, particularly early on, the better we can make TOK Chicago: bigger acts, more music and a bigger stage.

A Very Special Year

2019 marks the 66th Anniversary to the Armistice of the Korean War. Every year, the committee partners with local Korean War Veterans organizations to honor those who served in the Korean conflict. Plans are underway to invite a delegation of the Veterans Association, dignitaries and our sponsors to take part in this honorary event.
