A Home for the Le Family

The Le family is in need of a decent home.  Le Hung Dung lives in a substandard house made of degraded iron sheets, torn leaves, plywood and other temporary materials with his wife, Thi, and their four children in Dong Thap, Vietnam.  Le and Thi are both hired laborers who make a combined income of $100USD a month.

Through the help of their local government and Habitat for Humanity Vietnam, the Le family has been given the grant of decent housing.

We are proud to announce that The American School has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity for a second year and will be building this home!

Habitat for Humanity is an international organization with a mission to provide decent housing for all. There are 4.8 million people in Vietnam living in substandard housing. TAS is honored to provide service to the people of Vietnam through Habitat for Humanity.

On March 26, 26 and 28, fifteen TAS students and two teachers will travel to Dong Thap and build a home for the Le family over the course of three days.

As you can imagine, there is a cost to this project: $5,000 USD.  We have already raised $2,000 through a campaign to TAS parents and a yard sale.  Unfortunately, we lost a major donor who contributed to the build last year.

Please donate whatever you can to help this important cause.  Every little bit helps!

Check out how Habitat for Humanity Vietnam is working to create a world where every human has a decent place to live.
