TARDIS Little Free Library Slidell
Welcome! We are so excited you are here and hope you can join us on this journey! We are just two Whovians who had an idea to help our community! We want to build a Little Free Library in Slidell, but not just ANY Little Free Library, we want to build a TARDIS Little Free Library!! You can read some FAQ's here. So whether you are a Doctor Who fan or not, this project is great for the community. The Old Town Soda Shop in Slidell has graciously agreed to let us build the TARDIS in their yard, which makes perfect sense due to the amount of children that visit the soda shop and its close proximity to parks, schools and homes. A Little Free Library is simply where one can take a book, leave a book. It will all be maintained by those who start it and the community! Local school groups, churches, families and anyone can help us maintain the library and keep it stocked with great books for children and adults to borrow!
What we need first is to get it built! Since this is not your average Little Free Library, and will need to be weatherproofed to stand the elements, we need to raise funds so we can build it. Paul Patecek, of the Krewe Du Who, has graciously volunteered his time and mad TARDIS-making skills to build it for us. But we need materials! That's where you come in!
How it works:
*All monies donated, minus the 5% GoFundMe takes, will be used to purchase materials to build the TARDIS Little Free Library. Any leftover monies after completion will be saved for purchasing books, as well as the expected yearly maintenance on the TARDIS.
*All transactions will be recorded and kept to show donors how we spent the money.
*An itemized estimate has been done and will be provided upon request.
*If anyone can provide materials instead of funds to help this process, that would be greatly appreciated, but would need to be discussed with Paul, the builder, to assure the proper materials are purchased. He can be reached via our Facebook Page .
