Tara and her family need our help!

As many of you know, Tara was diagnosed on May 3rd with glioblastoma, a very aggressive form of brain cancer.  Team Tara (friends living close by) has been delivering meals and doing our best to help with care.  Recently, it has become apparent that Tara needs consistent professional care during the day.  Things have been getting progressively more difficult for Tara and her family for a while now... and they got worse this past weekend, 8/31.

Here is some history:

The six weeks of radiation and chemo treatment were more taxing than expected.  Tara did not have the strength for visitors and was not able to reach out to people.  She spent most of her time recovering from the treatments.  Due to this, Tara became increasingly isolated and was struggling emotionally.   Regardless, she was making progress - albeit slowly - day by day.  Unfortunately, just when she started to feel a little better, she went into the hospital with a brain hemorrhage (the weekend of August 31st).  She was there for several days for treatment and observation.  The hemorrhage was contained and her medical team reported that her treatment was going well overall.  As of now, she is at home :)!

She now has a bit more energy and is able to be awake a little longer each day.  However, she is having vision problems and hallucinations (possibly from the medications).  This is obviously disconcerting for Tara, as she can't tell what's real and what isn’t.  Also, she has started chemo treatment again (a stronger dose than last time).  She is trying her best to eat healthy and do everything she can to fight!  The hemorrhage and medication side effects are setbacks, and the stronger dose of chemo is another hurdle.  However, Tara is still up for the fight!

Now that we know just how difficult the treatment regimen is and have a better idea of what lies ahead, we have arranged for full-time care during the day. This kind of care will cost money (about $22/hour) and finances are starting to become an issue; hence the start of this go fund me page.

ANY DONATION no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated.

Also if you have not already signed up for her CaringBridge site it is the best way to get updates as well as sign up for the meal train that has been started.

Tara is so blessed to have every one of you in her life.

Thank you for your support,
