Restoration of Manyara Girl’s Dormitory

Hi, my name is Courtney and I have created this go fund me on behalf of a group from the University of Wollongong.

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights provides “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the heath and well-being [of themselves and their family]”. The girls dormitory room at Manyara Primary School, near Babati in Tanzania is unliveable. The children living there are at risk of illness, being exposed to the elements, and currently don’t have access to the basic human right of adequate shelter. A group of 16 UOW students and academics will be going over to help restore the dorm so that it can be hygienic, safe and stable!!

This is a self funded trip, with all volunteers paying for their own flights, accomodation, transport etc., however, we are asking for donations for the project itself. This is your time to help. All donations will go directly to the costs of restoring the dorm, including materials and possibly the assistance of local labourers. All funds raised will go directly to the resources and supplies needed to repair the roof, floors and general living conditions of the girls dormitory.

This trip and project has been arranged by the ASSH faculty at University of Wollongong, who have strong connections with the area and school we will be working with. Education is so important and without the restoration of these living facilities, many of these girls may not have access to it or get sick while doing so due to these conditions.Please donate via the link below as all funds will go directly to the supplies and materials needed to complete this project and support this beautiful community.
