My choreography “μοίρα Moira”, created in 2018 for the "Tanz Company Theater Ulm" in occasion of the Young Choreographer, has been selected to partecipate at the "Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporanea de la Ciudad de México 2020".
This is the first step to get into a Choreographic carrier and realise my second dream to be, not just a dancer, but also a choreographer.
The Festival will take place in August, but all the organisational documents should be done within March.
Here I'm, asking you a support to make all this became true.
The gained fund will be used for the flight ticket of the dancers who will go in Mexico to perform “μοίρα Moira” piece and represent me as an international choreographer.
I will be infinitely greatfull if some of you will help me even a bit supporting my Choreographic work giving me the possibility to achieve my goals.
Following you can read something more about me and the piece.
I'm Luca Scaduto
Soloist Dancer of "Ballet Company Theater Ulm"
I was born in a small Sicilian village close to Agrigento, where I lived till I turned 13 years old, before I moved in the north of Italy to study and become a quantity Surveyor.
At the same time I started to practice ballet in an amateur school close to Monza, that made me more interested in dance and becoming a dancer
Exactly when I was starting to realise that I will not become a dancer , I met the Directors of “Professione Danza Parma” and “Professione Musical Italia” who changed completely my life.
They gave me the opportunity to study in their school for 2 year, training me to become a professional dancer and allowing me to graduate with the “ISTD Imperial Classical Ballet Advanced 2 Level Diploma”, grade “Distinction” 95/100.
“Professione Danza Parma” School opened many doors for me, introducing me to the dance competitions world, where I started to win podium prizes, scholarships, admission to prestigious schools and young companies.
Among the most important winnings in my carrier, there are :
“International Dance Festival Berlin Tanzolimp”
“Anna Pavlova Competition” in Florence, where I received a special mention as “Best Male Interpreter” and the admission to “Agora Coaching Project” by Michele Merola & Enrico Morelli
“Der Theater Preis” as Best Dancer of Theater Ulm Season 2018/2019
As a member of “Agora Coaching Project”, I earned experience dancing for choreographers of the European Contemporary Art Scene, to move then in companies like:
“Valencia Dancing Forward” in Valencia (Spain),
“Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma” in Parma (Italy),
“EgriBiancoDanza” in Turin (Italy),
“HNK Split Balet / Croatian National Theater Split - Ballet” in Split (Croatia),
“Tanz Ensemble Theater Ulm” in Ulm (Germany)
During my carrier I also worked as a Performer for:
“Costa Cruise Line”
“West Side Story” BSMT Musical Production
“Musical productions of Theater Ulm”
In addition, I taught Ballet and Contemporary Dance in different dance schools, and worked, for the same, as a Young Choreographer.
Nowadays, I’m working as a Soloist Dancer in “Tanz Ensemble Theater Ulm” and having for the latter collaborations as a Young Choreographer, Guest Ballet Master and Dance Photographer.
Everybody at one point of their life, have asked themselves, why something was happening or why it was not going as planned.
I started from this point to create my choreography.
And I thought of asking some questions to the public, and to put on stage two men.
One is representing the destiny, manipulating all the time the life of whom is under his hands while the second one is a common and normal guy that is fighting to reach his dreams and make them true, always looking for something new to experiment.
They have this relationship that is always changing. At the beginning they don’t have any kind of contact, because they are just discovering each others essence.
Then they have this rebellious moment , where the normal guy understands that there is someone who at all times decides something different from what he decided before, and starts this fight where he doesn’t want to permit the destiny to decide for him.
At the end he will realise that they are the same person, and that what is influencing his own life are just his decisions.
And for me it was important to express my opinion at the end of the piece through an Albert Einstein thought about destiny, that I share.
