Ewa, dreifache Mutter, ist ungewollt wieder schwanger. Sowohl sie als auch ihre Kinder sind chronisch krank. In den Augen ihres Partners ist es allein ihr Problem. Ihr ist klar: Für ein weiteres Kind mit chronischer Erkrankung wird sie nicht sorgen können und ihre drei Kinder sollen es nicht noch schwerer haben. Zuerst kommt die Panik, dann die Depression. Denn in Polen sind Schwangerschaftsabbrüche wie in diesem Fall illegal.
Doch dann steckt eine Bekannte Ewa einen Zettel mit einer Telefonnummer zu. Von Ciocia Basia – auf polnisch Tante Barbara. Ciocia Basia ist eine ehrenamtlich arbeitende Gruppe in Berlin, die ungewollt Schwangeren aus Polen hilft, eine sichere und legale Abtreibung in Deutschland durchzuführen.
Immer mehr ungewollt Schwangere wenden sich an uns
Die politische Lage mit Blick auf sexuelle Selbstbestimmung in Polen verschlechtert sich ständig: Der Zugang zu Verhütungsmitteln ist oft erschwert, die Pille danach ist rezeptpflichtig , es fehlt an sexueller Aufklärung.
Nun soll das ohnehin schon extrem restriktive Abtreibungsrecht sogar noch weiter verschärft werden. Jede Woche begleiten wir ungewollt Schwangere in die Klinik, übersetzen, organisieren Schlafplätze und haben immer ein offenes Ohr.

Ein Schwangerschaftsabbruch kostet durchschnittlich 400 EUR. Das ist viel Geld und nicht alle können sich das leisten. Unwanted pregnancy? Auntie Barbara helps
Ewa, a mother of three, is unintentionally pregnant again. Both she and her children are chronically ill. Her partner sees the pregnancy as Ewa’s problem alone. She knows that she won’t be able to care for another child with a chronic condition and that she shouldn’t make life harder for the three children she already has. First comes the panic, then the depression. Because in Poland, abortions are illegal in most cases – also in this one.
But then a friend gives her a note with a phone number of Ciocia Basia – in Polish Auntie Barbara. Ciocia Basia is a volunteer group based in Berlin which helps people from Poland who are in an unwanted pregnancy to carry out a safe and legal abortion in Germany.

The political situation with regard to sexual self-determination in Poland is constantly worsening: the access to contraception is often difficult, the morning-after pill was put on prescription, there is no sexual education. Right now the already extremely restrictive abortion law should be even further tightened. Planowane jest zaostrzenie prawa aborcyjnego, które już jest bardzo restrykcyjne. Każdego tygodnia towarzyszymy osobom w nieplanowanych ciążach w klinice, oferujemy tłumaczenia, organizujemy noclegi i wspieramy rozmową.
