I am hoping to help my brother Ronald (Tank) Spencley. Tank is in his 50's and has had more than his share of health issues.
He had back problems and was treated with a series of Epidurals containing Prednisone. It was later discovered that he was allergic to Prednisone and in 2007 he was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis. It is believed that this allergy led to this disease. For those of you who don't know, this painful disease is the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply. Also called Osteonecrosis, Avascular Necrosis can lead to tiny breaks in the bone and the bone's eventual collapse. Tank has had two hip replacements, lost all of his teeth, had surgery on one knee and was waiting for surgery on the other when two years ago, he received another devastating diagnosis. Tank was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. After spending weeks in Victoria being treated, he was ecstatic to officially be in remission. Two weeks ago Tank went to the doctor for a chronic sore throat only to find out that he now has throat cancer. He is being tested and has an appointment with a Cancer specialist April 21st to find out if the cancer has spread to any other parts of his body.
Tank went from being a successful entrepreneur owning his how Flower and Antique shop to being treated for back problems and then losing everything during an almost decade long health battle.
I am hoping to raise money to help pay his rent, car payments and give him grocery cards. Even a $5 donation will help.
