Tandridge Chairman's Nominated Charities

Young people and animals

Every year the Chairman of Tandridge District chooses one or more good causes as the Chairman’s Charities for the year. Last year I raised money for Tandridge's two Local Nature Reserves, this year I am going for the Scouts in Tandridge and dog rescue/sanctuary organisations.

The good causes I will be raising funds for this year are:

Warlingham-based Valgrays Rescue, which was established in 1978, helps rescue mistreated dogs and, where possible, re-homes them. The charity also helps horses and sometimes re-unites animals with their owners. During normal summers, its stalls, dog shows and dog agility team is famous at local shows and fairs.

Chaldon Animal Sanctuary is a home for life, a permanent sanctuary for cats and dogs with behavioural problems. Life-long care is provided for animals abused, mistreated, rescued from cruelty or pets due to be put down who have run out of other chances. Run in three acres of land, it is a non-profitmaking, non-breeding sanctuary with a no euthanasia policy.

Scouts in Tandridge District . The Scouts aim to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs and attitudes and be creative.  It offers them the independence to put these skills into practice at camps and even on international trips.
