Wellswood Twins Pony 8u All-Star baseball team out of Tampa, Florida wins Regional State Championship Sunday June 25,2017. Their record was an impressive 9-1 for the 5 -day tournament in Orlando, Florida. They won the championship game 12 to 8 against Forest Hills also out of Tampa.
These boys are excited about going to Louisiana for the second year in a row. Last year as 6u they won district and were the regional runners up. This year playing as 8u they are trying to bring the World Series trophy back to Tampa.
The team is led by head coach Corey Thomas, Corey has been coaching baseball in Tampa for years. He and his coaching staff understand how to teach young boys the fundamentals of baseball coupled with discipline, a winning combination.
The Wellswood Twins are trying to raise funds to pay for each team member hotel room for 4 nights July 12-15 along with travel expenses. The funds are needed by Monday, July 10th.
