Hi my name is Chris Hulings,
In late 2014 I was diagnoses with end-stage kidney disease for the second time… This sickness came on quite suddenly and I was forced to stop working. I began dialysis immediately and I have been doing dialysis 7 days a week 8 hrs. a day ever since.
For the last year and a half, I have been on a donor list through Oregon Health Sciences University waiting for a kidney transplant. My prayers were answered when I learned that the transplant team had accepted one of my best friends Tammy Walker to be the candidate to donate her kidney to me! We are hoping for transplant in August 2017.
Unfortunately, there is no allowance under my health insurance to cover living expenses that will be incurred by Tammy thorough out her donation. After having her kidney removed she is required to take 6 weeks off of work to heal before she can return to her normal duties. In this time we are figuring that her total expenses could easily reach $5,000.00.
I know there are many GoFundMe pages out there, but this is truly a situation where one person is endangering her own life and health to help another. Tammy is and has always been the type of person who would do anything for anyone and right now her sense of generosity is unsurpassed. She is a one of a kind friend!
I feel so grateful and blessed beyond words for this gift of life; Tammy truly understands the importance of family, friends, sacrifice, and life which is so clearly seen in this self-sacrificing act.
I can’t think of a more deserving cause. She is such a strong, selfless, and generous person and I would love to see this lighten the burden of her expenses so she can just focus on healing.
