Tammy's Funeral & Memorial Expense

Donation protected
Many people didn't know my Goddaughter, Tammy Rucker, daughter of my lifelong best friend Sandy Templeton.  Tammy was a brave, strong woman who had to overcome many obstacles in her 46 year life.  At the beginning of her life her father was stricken with MD and confined to a wheelchair and while in her early preschool years she was striken with cancer and spent 6 months in childrens hopital in Washington, DC undergoing radiation and chemo and when we thought she was lost to us a miracle happened and she recovered and the cancer went into remission.  Life was never easy as there were always health and financial struggles until close to three years ago when she was admitted into the hospital after a year of doctors and stomach issues.  After several days it was determined her colon was blocked and surgery was performed on Christmas Eve.  Due to complications she was transferred on Christmas to a larger medical facility and more surgeries to remove and try to repair the intestines and stomach were performed.  After many close calls Tammy came home to live with her Mom and Stepdad Bob as much care was needed, including feeding thru tubes.  After many months in and out of local hospitals for a number of complications Tammy was seen by the transplant doctors of Georgetown hospital to determine if she could have an intestinal transplant and regain her normal functions and be able to eat again.  After much prayer, Tammy decided to proceed with the transplant. Unfortunately after a year and a half of many complications, Tammy's struggle to survive is over.  Tammy passed this evening after weeks of struggling to overcome an infection that developed in her right ankle and caused septic toxic shock which sent her back to the transplant hospital and due to many complications that arose her body could no longer fight the fight for life.  The loss of a loved one turns ones life upside down.  Our world as we knew it has forever changed and those changes require that we in turn adjust to a  new "world".  One is never prepared for the loss of a loved one, particularly when it is a daughter or son.  Tammy was so special to me and all that knew her and especially to her family.  She leaves behind her mother and stepdad, aunt, daughter and wonderful grandson that was her joy through all her suffering.  This is a call to help to lighten the burden for the funeral and memorial for Tammy.  The funds are needed as soon as possible as the family has been through much in the past three years and their resources have run out from the care of their daughter. All funds  will go directly to Tammy's personal representative, her mother, Sandra Templeton who is in charge of all final expense.  God Bless and thank you in advance for your generosity.  The family and I deeply appreciate your help.
