<div>My Story – Hi, I’m Tammy: Stronger Than Cancer, My Fight Against Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

<div>In March of 2024, one phone call changed my life forever. What started as a simple doctor’s visit for back pain turned into words no one is ever prepared to hear: chronic myeloid leukemia. In that moment, my world — and my family’s world — was turned upside down.

</div>

<div>Since my diagnosisI’ve carried questions that weighed heavily on my heart: Why me? What did I do wrong? Fear, worry, endless doctor’s visits, medications, and treatments became my new reality. On top of it all, financial stress crept in, stealing away pieces of the life we once knew. For too long, I allowed cancer to define me.

<div>But today, I choose differently. I will not be defined by cancer. I am still Tammy — the same woman, mother, wife, and grandmother I was before this diagnosis. Cancer is part of my story, but it will never be the whole story. I am fighting — not just for myself, but for my wife, my daughter, my son, my grandson, and my entire family.

</div>

<div>This battle is lifelong, but I refuse to let cancer make me a prisoner in my own life. Still, the financial burden of treatments, medical bills, healthy food, and simply keeping a roof over our heads has made this fight even harder. That’s why we are starting this fundraiser — to help ease the crushing weight of choosing between survival and stability.

<div>Every bit of support — big or small — means the world to us. It gives us the chance to focus more on life, love, and making memories with my family, instead of constant worry about finances.

<li>In 2022, everything changed. I spent months in the hospital, went through three surgeries, and fought for my life against a severe infection that no one could explain — it took over so quickly.

<div>In 2023, I found myself back in the hospital again, facing another surgery, still searching for answers and wondering why my body couldn’t seem to heal.

</div>

<div>Then came 2024, the year we finally got the answer — Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). It explained everything: why my body couldn’t fight off infections, why I was so weak, and why life had become such a battle.
