Anyone who has met Tammy and David know what gems they are, both as individuals and as a couple. Engaged community members, they continually support and empower others.
They have recently been faced with unexpected and overwhelming financial hardship. Tammy is experiencing a recurrence of a chronic condition which has meant that not only can she no longer work, but there is the burden of ongoing treatment expenses, which are not covered by medical insurance.
Her condition has left her bedridden for the past month, unable to walk. This will likely continue for the forseeable future. She is unable to speak and, often, pain in her hands prevents her from communicating through typing.
For most of her life, Tammy has struggled with some body imbalances. This was due to having slight scoliosis and a club foot. Her body compensated and, after playing competitive sports through high school at a high level, very bad muscle imbalances developed. This led a lot of headaches, TMJ-joint dislocation, and pain/muscle/fascia tightness.
Over the years of seeing specialist after specialist - with no definitive answers or relief- Tammy discovered a way of stretching that, with acupuncture and rolfing, helped her slowly realign her body.
The results were pretty magnificent. From 2010 to 2015, she was in long spells of inability to move and talk but in 2016, she was living a pretty normal life with a thriving, small psychology practice (she still had to walk and stretch for 2 hours every day to keep the gains she had made).
However, in August of 2017, her jaw came off of the disc, which stopped her from talking. And over the course of the last 6 months, the stretching has stopped working, which has increased the pain in her body. Worse still, it seems like she has lost many of the gains she has made over the last 6-7 years.
