Tammy Meyer Breast Cancer Fund

Donation protected

I am raising money for a wonderful mother and my awesome friend of 18 years, Tammy Meyer.  Tammy is a beautiful person inside and out.  She has a big heart of gold, she is compassionate, funny, smart, a pleasure to be around.  Tammy loves life and people.  She has always been there for me, in every major event in my life she’s been by my side. She and I are sisters by choice.  Tammy has been fighting breast cancer for a year now and at this point she needs to leave her home and go to Arizona for two months to undergo chemo and other treatments.  As we all know, medical bills can quickly pile up, and dealing with financial pressure is not conducive to recovery.  I started the “Go Fund Me” campaign to give others the opportunity to support her so she can focus on getting better.  Any help, whether financial, prayers, or encouragement is greatly appreciated!

Below you will find a statement from her daughter Hope (17 years old).  Also, Tammy has written something, so we can all get to know her and listen to her story.

From Tammy’s daughter Hope (17 years old):

My mom is the best mom in the entire world!

I appreciate my mom more than she knows.  I love her to the moon and back and I could never ever replace her as a mom. She means so much to me.  This year being so crazy was such an eye-opener to realize how grateful I am to have her as my mommy.  She is sweet, funny, amazing, she’s my protector and she always looks out for me.  She is beautiful!  I couldn’t ever describe my love for her because it’s so big! I appreciate and thank her for giving me the best life possible for me to live and for adopting me.

I love her so much and she’s the best mom I could ever have in my entire life. I love her!!!

From Tammy:

“You have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma” … those are words no one ever wants to hear. Unfortunately, on October 26th, 2017 that’s exactly what I heard on the other end of the phone.

“Nooooooooooooooooooo!! Not me! It must be a mistake!” It is all I could hear ringing in my head.  I have always been very active physically, loved working out at least 2-3 times a week and eating healthy.  It never crossed my mind I could be faced with dealing with cancer.   That was the day my journey with Breast Cancer began and my life, as I knew it, was altered forever.

You never know how you will react to something bad until you are faced head on with it.
I thought I was dealt a bad card but it’s time for me to ante up and go all in.  That’s really the only way I know how to get things done.

I am 49 years old and a loving mom of two amazing teenagers Hope and Connor who I love to the moon and back.  I WILL be dancing at their weddings and meeting my grand babies one-day way down the road.  This is what fuels me to keep the fight.

Along with my wonderful children I have been blessed with an extraordinary man named Mark to share my life with, a loving and healthy Mom, Dad and brother and loads of supportive friends.  I really am blessed with an amazing life and surrounded by fabulous people.

One year ago, immediately after learning I had a breast cancer, I went thru all recommendations of my doctors plus mastectomy of both of my breast.  I really thought this will do it and I will be cancer free.

As time passed by I realized I MUST be my own advocate and dig deeper than what traditional medicine has to offer. Listening to that small inner voice has guided me to Envita Medical Center in Arizona where I was tested again about one month ago.

Despite my many blessings, the fact is I still have cancer.

My doctor said I was loaded with infections and toxins with resistance to standard chemo, my immune system was very weak, and he recommended immediate treatments plus genetically targeted fractionated chemotherapy, or GTFC for short at Envita.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a very strong woman and asking for help is not in my vocabulary, but the ugly truth is I am faced with over $300K in medical bills and my life on the line. Because I have an income I do not qualify for financial aid and even thou I have a health insurance that I pay for over $600 a month, it does not cover everything. The medical bills are piling up and exceeding my income while my savings is being depleted.

I humbly come to you and ask for your help.

The good news is I’ve found a place to give me HOPE and a chance to beat this disease once and for all.  Envita Medical Center in Arizona is where I am going for the next two months.

The bad news is insurance does not cover any of these medical expenses.  Leaving my family and friends is breaking my heart, but I believe it is what I must do so I can beat cancer and be around for a long time.

My fiancé Mark and my kids are all emotionally supporting me and helping any way they can.  I will be leaving them all behind to take care of the home front so anything you can do for them will in turn be helping me; such as, a meal, a text, a visit, a prayer or just words of encouragement to them would be so greatly appreciated.

I humbly come to my friends and family for the first time in my 49 years and am asking for your support.  Please anything you can contribute is a huge help.  Even if it’s not in a monetary way, your prayers, acts of kindness and positive encouragement to me and my family will be just as meaningful.

Thank you to all of my family and friends for your love and support and providing me the courage to speak so publicly about something so private.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your wanting to help.

Much love and appreciation to you all!!!!
