Tami's acceptance into the Acosta Institute Fellowship

For a great deal of my life I have supported numerous efforts to fundraise and personally contribute to causes and people that contribute to the uplifting, healing, and investment in Black, Indigenous, Communities of Color and other marginalized groups in my dedication to leverage my capabilities and stand true in my commitments.

Today I am reaching out to my family and community to ask for your support in uplifting me by supporting a personal fundraising effort to be able to accept an incredible and exciting opportunity as a Fellow into the Acosta Institute Fellowship. This Fellowship is a distinguished program dedicated to developing healing-centered leaders in education, organizational transformation, and systems change.

Having this fellowship opportunity means everything to me. For many years I have been on a dedicated path of healing and over the years I have begun to integrate healing centered frameworks, modalities, and practices into the context of my work that has brought me to a deeper understanding of my place in the world.

As many know my career has been dedicated to human rights, racial equity, and justice and in the last few years I have begun to shift my focus into an emerging field of Healing Centered Practice that is rooted in Black and Indigenous wisdom and scholar and has grown out of the Trauma Informed Field.

This fellowship convenes a global network of educators, facilitators, strategists, and social impact leaders who are committed to embedding equity, restorative practices, and healing-centered frameworks into leadership and institutional structures. By participating I will have the opportunity to learn with some of the leading scholars in the field, deepen my knowledge and practice, refine my professional focus and I can only imagine the personal growth that will come from it. It's honestly what I have been dreaming of!

Through this fellowship, I will:
  • Expand my leadership capacity to develop and implement healing-centered organizational frameworks that support staff well-being, equitable leadership, and sustainable change.
  • Co-create new strategies, tools, and practices to embed healing-centered approaches in professional development, leadership training, and institutional culture.
  • Leverage mentorship and strategic partnerships to enhance my ability to guide organizations in integrating trauma-informed, resilience-building, and equity-driven practices into their work.
  • Engage in a global learning environment with other thought leaders, bringing back best practices that will directly benefit organizations, educators, and leaders in the nonprofit, education, and social justice sectors.

The full value of the fellowship is $25,000, reflecting the depth of programming, mentorship, and leadership training that fellows receive. However, thanks to generous funding, over 75% of the cost has been covered, reducing my program administration fee to just $5,000.

This is why I am reaching out to my community today....... Your support at any level will ensure my acceptance and the opportunity to fully engage in this transformative leadership experience and continue to expand the reach of healing-centered education and leadership practices in organizations globally.

To my family and community, I love you, I am grateful for you, And thank you for believing in me and the endless ways you have all supported me. And I thank you for your contribution of any kind so that I can expand my impact in the world to help heal, restore, rejuvenate, reimagine, and transform!

In gratitude and love
Tami
