Hey Friends,
I need $3,000 by March 1st, 2018!
What's up? I'm relocating from Boston, MA to Washington D.C.
Whaaat, are you serious? Yes! I've accepted a job offer, have secured an apartment, and have joined several online groups to help me find a church home and make friends.
Before you freak-out, hear me out: Ten years ago, I moved to Boston from my homestate of NY. During my time here I've acheived (#hulksmashed) all of my academic + career goals, indulged in so much love and laughs, made a million mistakes, as well as built solid (#A1) friendships within the Beantown community! Have me tell it . . . "I was born in NY, but raised in Boston"! However, at this time, after much prayer, fasting (and tears), I'll be relocating to embark on a new journey. I don't have all of the "whys", but I'm trusting God as I move (literally) waaaay out of my comfort-zone.
Oh and, "Nah. I don't know anyone out there!"
But, why tho'? There are several professional and personal reasons. Professionally, Washington D.C., is a great place to continue expanding the Salt + Lyte Initiative that God has placed on my heart (www.saltandlyte.com). And personally, I'm ready to embrace a freshstart by making new friends and continuing to build a well-balanced, enjoyable life . . . Atleast, that's what I think for now. We'll see what God does, though. He's always up to something!
No, really . . . why!? I'm taking a leap of faith! It's taken me two years of prayer and intermittent fasting to finally say, "Yes!" to leaving my comfort zone in this major way. I'm ready to abandon the idea that "I'm stuck" because of my current comfort in life, and I'm no longer telling myself that "I'll fail" if I leave. Nonetheless, even with my confidence in God's plan . . . I know that I can't do it alone. This timeline is bananas, and money is tight. Which is why I need your help . . .
Request (again): I need $3,000 by March 1st, 2018.
What's the money for?
- $400 Moving Fees (packing + transportation)
- $1,600 Apartment (initial fees for an apartment with 1-2 roommates)
- $1, 000 Financial Cushion; given my limited sources of financial support, this will ensure that I have groceries and toiletries for a few weeks as I transition and payroll at my new job kicks in
Friends, EVERY $1 counts! I consider myself an independent, financially responsible woman. However, at this time "faith" means I'm trusting God by asking for help instead of pretending to be Superwoman as I follow His path. In the past several years, I've gracefully managed several financial setbacks, and continue to trust God with my finances. At this point, I refuse to have my "yes" to leave my comfortzone be overcome by financial fears. *** In the event that your generosity exceeds my request, I will use the additional funds to pay off rotating debt. The more you give, the more "real" a freshstart becomes.

Your support means a lot to me. My friends and online network (YOU!) have been integral to my personal and spiritual growth throughout my time in Boston. At this time, I'm trusting God's call on my life to be 'salt + light' in a new (unfamiliar) place.
