Tamera's "Kick Cancers Butt" Fund

Donation protected
My amazing mother, Tamera, was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer in her left temporal lobe on February 14, 2014. Her initial symptoms included intense headaches as well as partial loss of eyesight. She underwent a craniotomy a week later in order to remove the tumor. She went through her first six week round of radiation therapy and chemotherapy and is currently in her maintenance round of chemotherapy. Her doctors say that this kind of tumor "likes to come back" and is aggressive. Along with traditional medicine, she is very interested in following a holistic approach, which of course comes with a hefty price tag, not covered by insurance.

Unfortunately, the most recent MRI shows that the cancer has returned, and the doctors are in the process of figuring out the next step to take. A variety of options exist, including another brain surgery, more radiation and chemotherapy as well as various clinical trials.

Its hard for her to ask for help and even harder to ask for financial assistance but I humbly ask, that if possible, a donation be made in order to help ease the financial burden that goes directly hand in hand with battling cancer. My mom has been, and will continue to be in the fight of her life, and the last thing I want her worrying about is how to pay the next  medical bill that is thrown her way. If you are unable to contribute monitarily, your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!

She has been so strong through out all of this, and I am so proud to call this amazing woman my mom, as well as the grandmother of my children. We love you Gammy! XO

**All money donated will be directly given to Tamera to help offset her medical bills.**

More info about Glioblastomas: This particular type of brain cancer is called Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). These cancerous tumors arise from cells that make up the supportive tissue in the brain. They are usually highly malignant because the cells reproduce quickly and are supported by a large network of blood vessels.  Glioblastomas are not surgically curable, but there is good evidence that the more tumor that can be removed, the better the prognosis. The radiation and chemotherapy are designed to target the infiltrative component of the glioblastoma and delay tumor progression.

I also would like to ask for prayers for my mom, that she can beat the odds to have a chance at a future enjoying her two grandchildren and her family-prayers that her strength and hope and faith will get her through this. We love her so much!
