Help the Tamburo Family Rebuild

Donation protected
On July 4, 1951 Gerald Tamburo was born in the South Bronx, NY.  He was a loving husband, father of 14, and grandfather of 8 beautiful children. He was a very hard working man who by trade was an Automotive Refinish Technician.

Over the 45 years Jerry worked as a painter, the hazards of the job, repeated exposure to deadly chemicals and job related stress caused a sharp decline in his health.  Jerry's health problems caused him to no longer be able to physically do the job, and eventually he was laid off. Jerry was devastated.

He has two young boys (Anthony and Vincent) still at home and his wife (my mother) who suffers mental and physical disabilities from a severe car accident. She died and by the grace of god was resuscitated, but she has lasting effects that render her unable to work.

Just as any self-respecting man would do, Jerry swallowed his pride, put his health and wellbeing aside and hit the street looking for work. Eventually, he landed a job driving a taxi cab. It wasn't much, bills started piling up and even though rent was usually late, they had a roof over their head.  He was working all hours of the day and night to make ends meet but it just wasn't enough.

On Wednesday February 11, 2015, Jerry had a massive heart attack in his taxi cab while in route to pick up a fare. He died on the scene but a Good Samaritan saw the car accident, called 911 and performed CPR until the rescue squad arrived. They had to resuscitate him five times. It wasn't until they arrived at the hospital that they stabilized him. It is unknown how long his brain went without oxygen and he was pronounced brain dead.

On Friday February 13, 2015 Gerald Tamburo, in the company of all of his family, was taken off life support. He died in less than 5 minutes.

At the time of his death, Jerry had no life insurance or medical insurance.  All he had to his name was slightly over 200 dollars in the bank and a few bucks in his pocket. My mom and the boys have nothing. No money, no food and no income.

We are faced with a mountain of past due bills, Dad's final expenses, current medical bills and housing expenses. Family and friends are working tirelessly and have exhausted any and all financial resources. If we can't stabilize their household soon, my disabled mother and two young brothers will be kicked out of their home, loose their car and go hungry.

This is really hard for me to say but if there is anything you can do to help the Tamburo family, please do. We really need the help. It doesn't matter if it’s a penny or a hundred dollars, every donation counts. Thank you so much for you consideration and god bless.
