Puerto Rico Gifts For Kids

Hi, my name is Tamar Kranz and I am almost 12 years old. Turning 12 is a big deal for a Jewish girl, as it means I become a Bat Mitzvah!
A few weeks ago, I was sitting with my parents discussing plans for my Bat-Mitzvah party when images of the devastation in Puerto Rico flashed across the TV screen.
I thought to myself, how can I sit here and plan a fancy Bat Mitzvah party when so many kids my age don't even have a bed sleep in?!
When I shared my feelings with my parents, they were immediately on board. Would I be willing to forgo my party and go instead on a mission to Puerto Rico?
Without hesitation, I answered yes!
We partnered with the local Chabad in San Juan and I'm so excited to tell you that my parents and I are going to Puerto Rico during winter vacation to volunteer!
We will be meeting with families from all across the island, handing out food and gifts (I get to do the gifts part) to all in need. My goal is to bring a smile to at least 10 families a day.
In lieu of Bat-Mitzvah gifts for myself, I am asking my friends and family, and anyone else who would like to participate, to please donate to my go-fund-me page and to help me reach my goal of raising $3,000 for Puerto Rico Gifts for Kids.
