Tamara's Triumph

Donation protected

Meet Tamara Seiben. Tamara is a 19 year-old senior at Triumph High School. She isn't your typical high school student. Her short life has been riddled with tragedy, adversity, and challenges at every turn. Her life story is one for the books.

Tamara has been living on her own since she was 16. Both parents passed away and her brother committed suicide a short time later. Aside from an older brother who has helped her along the way, Tamara has lived in 12 different places in the last 3 years. She waits tables 6 days a week, 40 miles away in Pine Bluffs; usually until 11pm each night.  She maintains an apartment that she shares with 3 others, her parent's truck, and living expenses all while attending school during the day. Tamara gets high grades and accolades from her teachers and administrators.

Tamara will graduate from high school on Friday, March 24th, 2017. She will attend Laramie County Community College (LCCC) beginning in September. She is the first person in her family to graduate high school as well as attend a higher education institution. Tamara's professional goal is to be a Grief Councelor; putting to use not only her education, but her real-life experience. While Tamara will be living in the dorms and has academic scholarships, she needs help covering expenses that her grants will not cover.

Many of you have asked how you can help. Most of us can relate to the financial challenges of what it takes to attend college with a support system, namely a family. Well, we need to be Tamara's family.

Through www.gofundme.com/tamarastriumph
we are asking that you contribute, in any denomination big or small. These monies will help Tamara make the transition from Triumph and the amazing support she has received there, to an independent life at LCCC.

We have set the monetary goal at $10,000. This would ensure that Tamara has enough money in a college fund to pay for books, a computer, living expenses, and any other college related expenses that aren't covered by a scholarship. Tamara has planned to transfer to a 4-year University once she has completed her core requirements at LCCC. All funds raised will be transferred to a college savings plan (529 Plan) with an administrator who will assist in dispersing funds appropriately.

In Tamara's words to her parents, "I miss you everyday, but I'm doing everything in my power to go on and make the best of myself for you."

Update: Tamara is headed to LCCC in the fall and ready to start her future!

If you love Cheyenne, you will want this local girl to become an educated adult in this community. She is a role model, an asset and a human whose impact will be far reaching and dramatic.

Let's help Tamara reach that goal.
