Talia's Legal and Travel Fees
Just a few days ago, Talia was forced to travel across state lines from Montana to get her IUD replaced at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado. While traveling back home with her partner, still in pain from her procedure, they were stopped by a K9 unit for going 7MPH over the speed limit in a construction zone.
When the officer asked, Talia informed him that she had edibles with her, because her doctor had suggested cannabis for pain relief. Despite having a medical marijuana card, she was arrested for possession of cannabis and is now being asked to appear in court on July 2nd 2021 in Wyoming.
This GoFundMe is being made to help her afford travel from Montana to Wyoming, and also to help her cover associated legal fees, and ensure that she does not lose her housing in the process.
It's 2021. No one deserves to be jailed for possession of cannabis, nor should women have to travel across state lines to access affordable healthcare. Talia is a longtime advocate of the decriminalization of marijuana, and cannabis reform, and is the first to help when someone is in need. While the government has tragically failed Talia and so many other individuals , we are here to fight.
