Taking My Life Back From PTSD

Donation protected
Every day, 22 veterans lose their battle with PTSD by taking their own life.   In one year, the number of suicides outnumbers the number of troops killed after 9/11.  A few weeks ago, I almost became one of them.

At the bright young age of 18, I joined the Marine Corps to fulfill a lifelong dream of serving my country.  The journey towards the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor was intense but nothing filled me with more pride than putting on my uniform.

I lived my dream with honor, courage, and commitment... until my dream became a nightmare.  Three years into my service, I was raped by a fellow Marine.  I was quite literally ordered to hug my attacker and keep quiet about the assault.  Instead, I chose to report the incident.  The repercussions of this decision ended my military career.

With my dream shattered, I was left to pick up the pieces.  I was diagnosed with severe PTSD and each day became a fight just to stay alive.  The VA (Veterans' Affairs) threw medication after medication at me but all they did was leave me as a shadow of my former self.

The symptoms of PTSD continue to control and devastate my life and dealing with the VA has left me feeling hopeless and helpless.  The battle became so overwhelming, I was certain that taking my own life was my only relief...

Upon getting out of the psychiatric hospital, I learned of a treatment that has had amazing success with PTSD.  With an 85% success rate, ketamine infusions have done incredible things for veterans with PTSD.  Suddenly, I had hope again!  However, the VA does not pay for these treatments because they would rather be our drug dealers, hoping to kill us off rather than heal us.

The cost is out of my price range but the benefits are undeniable and greatly outweigh the costs of the six infusions required for treatment resistant PTSD.  I am seeking your assistance to help me get my life back.  I no longer wish to be a victim to this horrible disorder.  I want to be a survivor and an advocate.  Thank you for reading and I appreciate your help!
