Taking Care of Our Own: Katie Rymer

When Katie Rymer’s husband, Greg, accepted a new job as a tennis professional at St James Plantation in Southport NC in August 2018, she left her job in Pittsburgh PA to join him in sunny coastal North Carolina.  The move left her with a tough decision on how to handle health insurance.  She ended up with a lapse in health care coverage and just days before her new health insurance went into effect, she had to have an emergency appendectomy.  Obviously, waiting a few days to have the surgery was not a viable option!  The bills have already started rolling in and they are faced with over $25,000 in medical expenses.

The St James community has a strong tradition of ‘taking care of their own’.  Let’s keep that tradition going and help ease the financial burden that Katie & Greg are facing.
