Taking care of John

I recently received the horrible news that my Dad, John, has been diagnosed with what they’re calling “End Stage” Alzheimer’s.
My dad has been in assisted living in Pinetop, for a few months now, and he definitely had bad memory loss, but we would talk and when I would see him, we would share fun family stories from the past, because his long term memory was still pretty sharp. He and my brother talked about many things as well, and he still had the same old “John” humor.
In a period of less than 10 days, he had a rapid decline, and is no longer able to walk, he cannot eat solid food, and his body and even face muscles are not able to support themselves.
Some days he gets a little talkative, but he doesn’t remember who people are, and he thinks he’s in Spain in the Air Force some days.
Most days, he cant speak, he is not able to get out of bed or a reclining chair, and has enormous weight loss.
I have been up there to see him multiple times, and I am trying to see him as much as I can now until I can get him to hospice in Tucson.
I drive up and stay in a hotel up there each time, go get him clothes, sweatpants and sweatshirts, shoes and slippers, and comfortable lounge wear as often as I can, because he has to change clothes often.
I just want to provide everything I can for him, and make sure I am able to see him as much as possible, and get him moved to Tucson, and I could use a little help during this time, just to keep up with all of his needs, and to make extra trips to get his personal stuff out of his apartment from up there, and move him to Tucson.
I’m also trying to get a transport service to bring him down here, as I think it’s the safest and least scary way for him to make the ride.
