Take a Breath for Jess

We are Richard and Jackie Morrison.  We have a daughter who is 24 years old and is waiting on a double lung transplant from Shands in Gainesville, Florida.  Our daughter Jessica was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was five months old.  Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that causes thick, sticky mucus to form in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, this mucus blocks the airways, causing lung damage and making it hard to breathe. In the pancreas, it clogs the pathways leading to the digestive system, interfering with proper digestion.  Jessica does breathing treatments, chest physical therapy and oral medications on a daily basis.  She also requires IV Antibiotics when needed.  These have all worked very well for her in the past but her lungs have now reached the condition where her treatments and medications don’t do much for her.  Jessica's health has declined drastically in the past year.  She is now continually on oxygen.  She requires a wheelchair when we go out.  Jessica was approved for and put on the list for a double lung transplant last July.  We are trying to raise money to help with the cost of the transplant.  We are now waiting for the call from Gainesville.  We know it will come in God’s timing!  In the picture above is Richard and Jackie, Jessica (the blonde), Katy (Jessica’s Sister) and Ryan (Jessica’s Son).  Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
