Tajie’s elevation system for chair

Donation protected
I am very grateful that we receive help with Tajs medical equipment because I could never afford everything he needs. But after months and months of fixing and crouching his wheelchair along it has finally broke. The motors are shot! After several doctor appointments and evaluation we are finally at the point of ordering his new wheelchair but the most important part of the chair Medi-Cal denied!  The elevation system !!! They believe it’s not a medical necessity, he can live without it ...which I understand but I don’t think they understand how important this is for my son!
Taj is my 26 year old son who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Has been confined to a wheelchair since he was three years old. He always disliked the fact that people had to look down at him talk to him, it made him feel less of a person but the last wheelchair he received actually had an elevation system so he could look at people in the eye and talk to them. At The point in his life I saw shift in his demeanor it’s as if his confidence level just grew ! You don’t realize how important that is for your self-esteem until you’re in this position. Being able to elevate himself also helped with his independence, his morale, and his well-being as a person .
I was told I could add the elevation system if we came up with $1500. I know my friends and family have donated to the K town funds before and I appreciate all the support he has revived! So I absolutely don’t want anyone to feel obligated to help I just thought the go fund me is something I should try. Quality of life! Thank you everyone so much!!!!
