Room & Board: Tahoe Housing Crisis Documentary

A group of North Lake Tahoe filmmakers and I are making a 30-minute documentary about the housing crisis and its impact on the local ski/snowboard industry and community.

Interviews include:

Dave Wilderotter (Tahoe Dave's Ski Shops)

Christine Savage (Beyond the Boundaries)

Danny Kern

Tom Moores (Sierra Watch)

Irie Jefferson

Stacy Caldwell (Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation)

Brad Tasik

 

I've been blown away by the community's response to the project so far and feel it is an important film to make.

 

Funds raised will also go towards:

- Compensating the Tahoe-based editors and cinematographers making this movie happen

- Infographics including Maps and Charts to visualize key data such as

- Film equipment rentals

- Post-production

- DCP creation ($400 and DCPs are necessary to play at some festivals like Mammoth)

- Film festival submissions ($20-80 per festival submission but more people will see our film if it's in festivals!)

 

* All contributors will be invited to screenings and kept up to date on the progress of our film

* Contributions >$1500 will result, if desired, in an 'Executive Producer' credit
