( Taff's Corner ), fundraiser for David Padfield

Hi all I am going to be as open and direct as I possibly can.  I am trying to raise funds for my dad (David Padfield) as after receiving dreadful , life changing news of having cancer in June. His life, his plans, his family here and abroad and their security for the future have all been put in question.

After the diagnosis, My Dad underwent a six week intense course of chemo and radiotherapy in the hope to give him life.  The strength and dignity shown from ( as always in his manner) my Dad during this arduous and emotional year has been evident in his herclonian effort and no less a triumph within itself.  The treatment has helped but with it came other complications.  One ailment to another has led us to here, a place of immense uncertainty.

Living with My Dad throughout this heinous time, I was able to better understand what is of utmost importance to him and what we need to do to try and help him.

My dad is a fun, wonderful, caring, straight talking, fair and modest family man.  Who has been a wonderful father to my brothers and myself.  Respected by many, he is a man who loves the natural world and will help anyone in need.  The guidance and love from my Dad, not only for me but for any one smart enough to listen is undeniably prevalent.  My dad has always worked hard during his life and was still working part time at age 71 until the pandemic.

My aim in creating a Go fund me page is to raise funds to help him with anything he may need at this time and to provide reassurance that anything he may want or need for his family abroad can be put into place.  Whittling down the financial worry for him as much as possible, would provide him with some peace of mind in what is a difficult desperate situation

Having the security to support his family in the Phillipines is paramount in making some of his wishes come true.  Last year he moved his family into a more accommodating home, which unfortunately he has never had the chance to see or live in.  I know how much he loves us all and how much he longed to go back and see his family abroad.

He was due to fly out in February but this was cancelled due to the pandemic.  He never dreamed he would receive such devastating news about his health and was aiming to go once he was well enough.  With some of the funds raised I plan to set up reliable regular support ( as he does ) to help them secure there future, with such things as education helping the kids reach their full potential.

I have had to question my feelings / morals on the do's and don'ts of social media regarding sharing such an emotional and personal situation, it proved real hard for me to write and put this together,  All I want is to help my father to be as stress and worry free as possible during this awful time.

I can't give up so I continue to pray that my Dad can recover and defy the odds. To be with him for Christmas will be the greatest blessing.  Our family thank you in advance for any love, any good wishes and any funds raised.

Thank you.
Ash, Proud Son. X
