We Love Libby

To those that love Libby,

My name is Sam Qsar, a family friend of the Otten family.  As many of you know, Libby Otten was involved in a serious accident on Sunday March 20th, the day after being the maid of honor at her sister Katelyn's wedding.  In short Libby fell off a jeep that had stalled, lost its brakes and had started to coast backwards down a mountainside.   Libby was thrown out of the jeep and her lower body was run over by the tires as well as dragged down hillside by the jeep. This is the part where God sent His angels to protect Libby. Although her injuries  were serious (both legs broken and mutiple pelvis fractures) and at times life threatening Libby will make a full recovery.  The surgeons that worked on Libby did a fantastic job at putting her back together with rods, steel plates and screws, but the road to recovery will be quite long and ardouous.  

We are so thankful at the love and support of those that know and love Libby and the whole Otten family. So many of you have asked how you can help!  This is the reason for this page.  Many of you have graciously given of prayers, time, food, etc. There will be costs associated with Libby's complete recovery and this is where you can be a blessing to the Otten family. Libby's medical bills to date have exceeded 750K and thankfully the medical plan that she is on will cover the majority of that bill. There will be out of pocket expenses and unknown expenses during her recovery and it would be such a blessing to the family if we could cover that for them. The Otten family can then worry about nothing financially and focus on Libbys recovery.  Furthermore Beth will not be able to work during this time to focus completly on Libbys recovery.   We have a goal in mind that we would like to raise for these expenses. Ten percent of every donation will go to the Otten family's church Valley Baptist's Missions program since this is a passion for Libby.   Also any money raised in excess of the needs for the Otten family will go towards the missions organzation, Children to Love, a Bakersfield based missions organization focused on orphans in Romania, Uganda, and India.  

Thank you in advance for being a blessing to the Otten family. All the prayers, love, and support that they have received thus far towards Libby has been a testament to God and His provisions.  We thank God everyday for sparing Libby's life and are overwhelmed at how Libby's story has touched many and will continue to be used for His glory.
