Chrissy's fight against Neuroendocrine Cancer

Donation protected
Chrissy is my loving wife, best friend and a mother of three beautiful children. She has always been a giving person and has dedicated her time and love to helping others.  While raising our children and managing the chronic medical issues of our two boys, she has been working with a Durable Medical Equipment company to help coordinate the repairs of wheelchairs and equipment for the disabled community, volunteering with local nonprofits, and working toward a degree in Occupational Therapy whenever she could afford to.  Right after I accepted a new position in Boston, Chrissy was diagnosed with stage 4, grade 2, Neuroendocrine Cancer. (Steve Jobs and Aretha Franklin are a couple notable people who have had this.) She has struggled with her own health challenges for years, always powering through things if not by sheer willpower, then out of necessity to care for her family, but no one could have expected this.  After traveling to specialists at UCLA in California (nine trips so far) the two primary sites of cancer were identified in her small intestines which have metastasized to a 7cm tumor on her liver. She is now also facing the effects of carcinoid syndrome which further complicates her condition. The tests are ongoing. By some miracle Boston, where we are moving to, has some of the best doctors in the country for this type of cancer.  Just to get to a diagnosis, the travel and medical expenses have exhausted all of our and the immediate family’s finances and we are now in a position where we do not have the funds to cover what is going to be insurmountable medical expenses for her treatment. I don’t know how else to say it other than without the kindness of others to help support her in this time of need, my wife will not get the treatment she needs to survive. Her willingness to fight, and the tendency of this type of cancer to move slower than others provides a small window of opportunity to give her a chance.  Anything you can donate and sharing her story would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to raise $60,000. $10,000 to aid in travel/relocation and $50,000 to help with the expenses of her treatment and loss of her income. Every dollar, every share, and all your prayers will help get our family to our new location and aid Chrissy in getting the treatment and care she needs.  Chrissy is beyond thankful for everyone’s love and concern. She is very overwhelmed and absorbing the emotions that come with this news right now. We would like to provide her with an alternate means of contact so we don't fill up her Facebook page and she can check it and respond as often as she is able to.  If you want to send your well wishes, prayers, love, and words of kindness, please do so at this email address:     [email redacted]
