My name is Rebecca Murphy. I live in Ireland and am raising funds for the family of my dear friend Mahmoud and his wife Rawan in Gaza, Palestine.

Good news from Gaza: Rawan has safely given birth to their beautiful baby boy, Muhammad, who is now 6 months old. Alhamdulillah. But their struggle has become even harder.

The story of our close friend Mahmoud is the story of thousands of innocent families in Gaza. Since October 2023, Mahmoud was hit by shrapnel in his back and barely survived. His eldest daughter Miral also sustained head and face injuries. Then their home was completely bombed and destroyed. The family has been displaced multiple times and now lives in a fragile tent.

They face severe hunger, malnutrition, lack of clean water, overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and extreme heat with no electricity or proper healthcare. Mahmoud has lost a lot of weight, and his physical and mental health has deteriorated. Rawan, only 24 years old, is exhausted after giving birth and needs proper nutrition and care to recover and breastfeed little Muhammad.

Now they are a family of five: Miral (6 years), Laila (4 years), baby Muhammad (6 months), plus Mahmoud and Rawan — all trying to survive in one small tent.

The needs are urgent:

Milk, diapers, and baby essentials for Muhammad

Nutritious food and medicine for the children and Rawan

Blankets, clothes, and protection from the harsh weather

Daily survival expenses in these impossible conditions.
