Travis is 29 years old and has severe avascular necrosis in both hips and needs both hips replaced.  His orthopedic doctor wants to wait ten years before doing the hip replacements because of his "young" age.  Rather than taking prescription pain medicine and anti-inflammatory until then, he needs umbilical cord stem cell injections in both hips and IV Infusion.  He does not have medical insurance, and this is not covered by insurance.  He will need 2 cc's of umbilical cord stem cells costing $6,000.00.

Back in February of 2017, Travis had his first round of stem cell injections, and he has had some relief from severe pain and regained some normalcy back in his life.  He had been in constant pain, sometimes in tears.  He couldn't sleep because of the pain, walking, standing, squatting, bending, twisting, turning quickly, walking upstairs were very painful.  He had to lift his legs with both hands to get in and out of a car.  Now, those things are manageable, and the degree of pain is much less.

He knew at the first injections that he would need another round in 4-6 months, because of the severity of the avascular necrosis.  In November 2016 his hips were at a level 3 which is the worst, next being the collapse of the hip bone and surgery for new hips.  The stem cells help to rebuild the bone and tissue.  Although his pain is better, it is still painful to do normal things, and that is why he needs the umbilical cord stem cells.

BACKGROUND ON TRAVIS:  On November 6, 2013, Travis was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  He was 25 years old, athletic, played all sports, worked out in the gym every day and was studying to be a personal trainer.  This was devastating news for him, his parents, sister, family, and friends.  On November 12, 2013, he had surgery to remove his right testicle and was told the CT Scan showed the cancer was everywhere!  He came home and started throwing up. Nothing he ate or drank stayed down.  The doctor said it was cancer!  The next week he saw an oncologist. He was told he had Stage 3 of 3, and all 4 types of testicular cancer.  It had already spread to his stomach, lymph nodes, pelvis, lungs, liver, and brain.  NOT GOOD NEWS!!

On November 24, 2013, he had an appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston.  His parents drove him from Rockwall.  He had already lost 50 pounds due to throwing up.   The oncologist gave him maybe a 50% chance to beat this.  He was admitted to the hospital that day, and chemo started.  Travis had no insurance and no job now.  For the next two years, he was going back and forth to Houston for treatments and appointments.  He had 46.rounds of chemo and a tandem stem cell transplant before being declared "Cancer Free"!  Even so, he still had several surgeries ahead of him to remove remaining tumors.  He had a severe seizure and had to have brain surgery to remove a tumor, then had lung surgery, then abdominal surgery to remove tumors and lymph nodes.  All of the chemo and steroids he had to take is the cause of the avascular necrosis.

Travis has exorbitant amounts of medical bills that he pays on monthly and will be for the rest of his life.  Any help that you can give him to help pay for the stem cell treatment would be greatly appreciated.
