Hope for a Chance
Hi, Melissa here, family friend and fan of our superhero Caption Chance and he needs our help.
For over a month Chance has experienced vomiting and no one had answers despite a visit to the hospital and a diet change. On July 5th, just days before his 5th Birthday, Chance starting crying and screaming with excruciating pain in his head. So Trish rushed him back to Children’s Hospital where she soon discovered that Chance has a large brain tumor.
The next day I arrived to support Trish and Benny and we learned that he has multiple brain tumors and cancer along his spine.
On Monday he will have surgery to remove all that they can of the largest brain tumor and a biopsy will be done to better understand which type of cancer he is dealing with. Surgery will be followed by about a week in ICU then a few more days in the hospital.
If all goes as planned he will return home for recovery and then the next phase which will consist of radiation and chemo, which may be administered out of town.
To say we are devastated would be an understatement. Chance has a long road ahead of him full of surgery, treatment, and therapy some of which may be out of state. It is my hope that together we can assist the needs of this family.
Which brings me to this GoFundMe, the insurance deductible alone is $11,000 and he will need treatment well into the next year and possibly the next. With Trish needing time off from work for the foreseeable future she will need our financial support so that she can focus on the most important thing right now, Chance.
Foreseeable expenses include reliable transportation for getting to treatments (the transmission on Trish’s van has gone out and she needs a new vehicle), medical expenses, and a possible long term stay out of town.
If you know Trish you know she is always one of the first ones there when someone needs help. Let’s do the same for her in this time of need.
