Josh Allen Cancer Fund

A longstanding story within our family that has been told numerous times throughout the years goes like this:  circa early January 1981, Josh was a newborn and had recently come home from the hospital.  I was a few days shy of being 2 years of age.  Story be told, I was jealous of the fact that there was a new 'center of attention' in the family, one Mr. Joshua Cleveland Allen; therefore, I walked over to Josh, who was lying on his back, and began pinching him, much to the dismay of my Uncle Jessie.  Uncle Jessie, with his large intimidating frame, was one you really didn't want to upset if you knew what was best for you, especially as it concerned his family.  Nevertheless, I continued pinching to the point that Josh cried and Uncle Jessie's frustration continued to mount, ‘til finally Uncle Jessie leaned over to Aunt Debbie and whispered, "if he pinches that youngin' one more time, I'm gonna have to say something."  Thank the Lord, I quit pinching.

Now it's your turn, Josh.  I need you to pinch me and tell me this isn't true.  I need you to pinch your family and tell them this isn't true.  I need you to pinch your friends and tell them this isn't true.

We certainly want you to rejoin your beloved dad in heaven one day, just not this soon and not at this young of an age.

Josh has been recently diagnosed with an incurable type of cancer known as Undifferentiated Small Cell Sarcoma.  This type of cancer is extremely rare and is made up of super aggressive tumors that take over the body at a rapid pace.  We now know that Josh has at minimum 6 tumors from his chin down, one of which is the size of a softball.  The doctors have yet to do a CT scan on his brain.  Josh is being treated at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, FL.

Initially, Josh stated to me and many others that the only help he wishes for is true prayer.  I, along with everyone else, will continue to send prayers his way; but unfortunately, there is an insurmountable cost for Josh and our family to overcome by ourselves.  Josh has a cancer policy that has certainly got the ball rolling, but the continuous costs of travel expenses and hospital bills is beginning to add up and has become overwhelming.

I ask each of you to please help Josh in any way that you can, whether it be monetarily, by way of prayer, or simply by sharing this GoFundMe account.  Josh needs our help and he needs it fast.

Please pinch us, Josh.

We love you,

Adam

*Josh has specifically requested that any funds that are raised but not utilized be donated to the H. Lee Moffitt Center and Research Institution in hopes that the next person who is diagnosed with this horrible disease can have a little extra help towards their treatment and possibly a cure.

*I will update Josh's condition on this page as he and/or his immediate family permits.
