Remembering Chloe

This page is to help raise funds for the cremation and services to say goodbye to our lovely Chole.

We all remember this rhyme:
“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”

This is a lie.

Our bones can be broken and heal. The words, they can leave wounds you and I cannot see. They leave wounds that can be wide open for days, weeks or even years and many times even if they do heal, they leave scars that never seem to go away. Words hurt.

At the end of the day, when all’s said and done, all we have left is our words. Use them to bring people up. Use them to love and to help.

Last night one of my cousins killed herself because of hateful & bullying words.

Chloe was a ray of light. Always all smiles & laughter whenever we saw each other. She would brighten any gathering just with her presence.

Chloe is now a heartbreaking statistic.
The hardest one to grasp? She’s one of four students at her Eugene HS to have committed suicide this school year.

That’s 4 children in 8 months who all felt so bullied, they felt the had only one option.

So maybe that rhyme should go like this: ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will cut me deeply.’
