Appalachian Trail Fund

This February 15th, I will be embarking on the adventure of a lifetime as I begin my journey to Backpack the Appalachian Trail. The trip will take me approximately five months as I walk the 2,200 miles and peak the 350 mountains between Georgia and Maine.

Backpacking has been a favorite activity of mine for many years, and in September of 2019, I decided that in order to continue on the path toward my life goals and degree, I will need a break. I determined that it was time to start planning the trip I have been dreaming of for years, so I chose my start date (February 15th) and have spent the past year and a half preparing for my trip.

Working to earn the means for my education, living expenses and adventures has always been an area of pride for me. Up until now, it has been my goal to work to earn the money for my trip myself. While I have been able to cover most of it, I was met with a challenging year overall and a particularly challenging past few months. Through limited work amid the pandemic and struggling through the process of losing my grandfather, I was not able to work as I usually would and am now looking for some help to bring me to my goal.

Any donations towards my journey would help fund paying for food along the trail, the ability to stay in a hostel or hotel in towns to shower/do laundry, as well as purchase new gear along the way. I wish I could meet my goal and cover the trip myself, but I have come to accept that sometimes you can not control what happens, and plans don't always work out.
