Sharon Lost Everything In Fire

Donation protected
Today as my co-workers and I entered our workplace, we learned that one of our own had lost everything in an apartment fire early this morning (August 7th, 2017). A little back story. Sharon and I started working with our current employer this time last year. Sharon is almost always the first one at the office in the morning. She does her job and does it well. She never complains at the office, and she always has a stash of chocolate at her desk for anyone who needs a little sugar fix.

Last night, sometime after going to bed, she was woken up by someone banging on her door. When she made it to her door and opened it, she realized immediately it was urgent that she get out at that very moment. The corridor was filled with smoke and the apartment below hers was completely ablaze. Unfortunately the family under her unit lost their toddler in the fire. This has been a tragic event.

Sharon's life was spared and we are so greatful that she got out in time. As you can see from the picture, the roof caved in and it is a total loss. You see, Sharon had not even been a tenant in this apartment for a whole week. She had just gotten her boxes moved in right before the weekend.

Because of the fatality in the unit below hers, she was not allowed to go back in the unit until investigators were done and the structure was deemed sound to go through. Although it was a total loss, the firefighters were amazing enough to look through some of the rubble for any items that may be sentimental. Sharon was concerned and upset about the loss of her mothers wedding ring and the loss of a couple of antique 3rd generation bedroom suites handed down from her grandmother, to her mother, to her. All gone.

We all know that money can't replace sentiment. But she left her home with nothing but the clothes on her back and luckily her identification. Everything else GONE. This woman, in her state of shock and lack of anywhere to go, came to work today. She was scheduled for a 2-week training and although it was hard for her to focus, she managed to make it through the day without breaking down, a few tears yes but she held strong the whole day.

Sharon has a lot of support at work yes but I KNOW that she has made many many friends all over the country since she frequents many concerts of her favorite band Locash. All we ask is that we help her. She needs everything from food to furniture to a place to live. Every little bit counts. Please dig deep. Every penny goes to restoring her life and pray that with a little help and my metal detector that we find her mothers wedding ring in the coming days.

The picture below shows Sharon when she attended one of her 200+ Locash concerts on her birthday this year.
