<div>There are over 30 million non-speaking autistic people in the world who do not benefit from a systemic and holistic approach to providing the support they need to communicate to the world.

<div>We are inspired by the transformational impact being made by one of the most famous autistic non-speakers in the world, Joshua Harris, (a.k.a. The Joshie-Man). The Joshie-Man is changing society's perceptions of

<div>non-speaking autism. His life has been transformed through access to inexpensive and readily available technology. He uses an Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) device, known informally as his "Talker", to communicate.

<div>Just as 'non-hearers' are routinely provided hearing aids, we need to ensure that non-speaking children have these devices routinely funded and supported. We are shocked that AAC devices often are not accessible to all families who need them. Although funding is sometimes available through the NHS, navigating the process can be daunting, leading to delays or missed opportunities during critical developmental years.

<div>Furthermore, TJM's Dad, Dan Harris, has made clear that there should be systemic support for families who cannot afford the cost of a Talker.

<div>My name is Marissa Webb, a Speech and Language Therapist at The Orchid Practice. As a passionate communicator and advocate for children, this is a cause that is close to my heart!

<div>Our goal is to raise £55,000 to provide 100 Talkers to families who would not be able to afford one otherwise.
