Aspens Journey Home

Seven months ago my husband and I received news that we would be welcoming a baby into our lives in Febuary of 2017. We were extremely excited and couldn't wait to start our journey as a family together. Unfortunately my employer at the time created an environment that was overwhelmingly stressful and left me with the decision to seek employment elsewhere. The stress that I endured during this time carried over into the weeks of my new job as I struggled with depression and worry of finances. On November 21st 2016 my water broke and within 24 hours our precious baby girl Aspen was born; eleven weeks early. She is now in the NICU and is unable to survive without specialty medical care. She will likely be in the hospital for a few months. Currently we are relying soley on Antonios income and as the costs of our day to day life were met by having a dual income household we have fallen under tough circumstances. We travel to and from the hospital multiple times each day and have expenses such as medications for myself that are no longer being covered by insurance. We are incredibly lucky to be supported by such wonderful family and friends and appreciate all the love and well wishes we have received thus far. As we currently have nothing for a preemie baby we would be incredibly thankful to have money to set up all of her needs when the time comes for her to be home with us. We would also appreciate extra funding for gas money and emergency funding to get us through until I am able to work again. We are new parents and this situation can be scary and overwhelming when things are stable but with me losing my job things have a new level of added stress. We are hopeful and try and view each day with a fresh start and invite you to be a part of our journey in bringing Aspen home.
