I have been praying and dreaming of what my future holds, what does God have in store for me? I know in part for in September, just a few short months away, I am headed off to YWAM in Los Angeles, California for six months. For the first three months I will be involved with the Justice “Disciple Training School”(DTS). After that, I will be involved in an outreach mission for another three months. The DTS portion of the six months will be a time of receiving teaching about Christ and what it means to be a disciple. They will be leading me on a path of learning to know my Father in a more intimate way.
Sex Trafficking IS happening here, it is happening all around us. This is a real issue and I want to help do something about it. The Justice Disciple School is all about Human Trafficking.
The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking globally. This rocks my world. Let the following statistics move you like they have moved me.
68% of them are trapped in forced labor.
26% of them are children.
55% are women and girls.
The International Labor Organization estimates that human trafficking is a $150 billion industry worldwide.
We will receive training on issues of human trafficking locally and internationally. Although some of these women say they chose to enter this lifestyle, that is often not the case. They are coming from a place of abuse and hurt.
The outreach will also be international and only when I am in California do we find out where we will be sent. I am excited and ready to jump into wherever God takes me. I look forward to what He has in store.
To accomplish the DTS and outreach, it is an outlay of $8500. Would you consider helping toward this goal? As all missionary fundraising letters state, I concur, your prayers are like money in the bank. I need them and if you could be excessive in praying I would appreciate that. Anything God lays on your heart to pray for me personally, socially, emotionally, physically and mentally, man, I would be very grateful!
And likewise, in whatever capacity you feel led, I am asking for your financial help. My parents suggested that for a donation over $150 you will receive a bag of Twin Valley Coffee. Let us know your preference, otherwise I’ll choose for you. If you donate over $300 you will receive a bag of coffee and a bottle of cold brew.
God is taking me here for a reason, there is a plan. I will be changed and hopefully someone else's life will be changed.
