Support for the Bett Family

Five years ago, Tony found out that he had a brain tumour. He underwent emergency surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible. Due to the position of the tumour, it can not all be removed. Tony reacted badly to surgery, it left him paralysed down one side for a while, and he struggled for a long time with even the most simple of tasks, he still has problems with one of his hands, it caused him lasting memory problems, he cant hold a telephone conversation to name but a few issues. Tony was supported throughout this awful time by his now wife Emma. Taking care of him and their 4 kids and holding down a full time job was no easy task. Emma had surgery last year on her hip to mend a labral tear, as a consequence of this surgery her arthritis has progressed, resulting in her now needing a hip replacement, which she was due to have this year. She suffers a huge amount of pain because of her hip and it makes her daily life incredibly difficult. She had her heart set on this hip replacement so she can be pain free for the first time in a long time and enjoy life again. Unfortunately, they have just found out that Tonys brain tumour has grown back, to the point he now faces six weeks of radiotherapy followed by 12 months of chemo. He will obviously be unable to work and has to surrender his driving licence again, meaning Emma will be unable to have her surgery any time in the foreseeable future as she does not get sick pay and hers will be the only wage coming in. There are no gaurantees that Tonys tumour will respond to treatment and even if it does, it is not a cure. The constant worry he must have over his wife and kids and they over him is a heavy burden for a family to bear. Emma being in so much pain whilst taking care of Tony and her kids one of whom, at only 15 years old suffers immensly with chronic fatige, and being the sole provider for her family is just too much. We are rasing this money to try and take some pressure off them and hopefully enable Emma told take the time off work she needs for her hip replacement when the time is right. She needs to be out of pain and well to be able to face the difficult road ahead with her husband and children. Please help us to help our lovely friends during this extremely difficult time.
