T’s safe relocation and surgeries

Donation protected

[ETA: Thank you all so much for your support thus far. A couple folks have asked if they could contribute via Venmo instead; it is @t-010 (those are zeros) and I’m also happy to provide PayPal information if that works better for you as well.] . I am a 26-year old queer, nonbinary disabled individual living with a lifelong abuser and am seeking safe housing, likely across the country (US). Due to multiple chronic illnesses, I have been unemployed since 2019; living with said abuser has been my only choice. In September, I finally found the doctor I’ve been searching for my whole life. His rate is not something I can afford, but the remedies he suggested are working; your support in helping finance his practice will aid my ability to function in a way no one has been able to make happen. I have two surgeries scheduled in 2021 that, without external support, I likely will have to forfeit, further hindering my ability to walk and keep down food (please feel free to contact me if you have any questions). I already know I most likely will have to forego them anyway, but scheduled them to entertain the slightest chance they could be possible.

Trigger warning: depression, suicide, institutionalization, death.

Additionally and crucially, I have suffered from extreme debilitating suicidal ideation and bipolar disorder since age 8; short of a third hospitalization, I’ve had trouble for years finding a therapist (ideally a person of color and/or LGBTQ+) who isn’t out of pocket or who doesn’t tell me I “have too much trauma” for trauma therapists who deem they are not equipped.

I have reached the apex of violence and of what I can tolerate at home, with threats of killing on a weekly basis. A family member has offered his place as a safe house in Nevada. Your support will help me relocate, slowly find help for long-standing mental and physical ailments, and hopefully tide me over until I am stable enough to find a job. As a disabled queer person of color currently in the South, I believe it imperative to also start a safety fund, should something go wrong (this is why I pass as a “woman” of color) and I may have to relocate again, find a safer doctor, etc.

I am on my own. I don’t see a future for myself (would like to study acupuncture) at present unless monumental shifts happen. My formerly closest friend who could provide resources and support recently shared that he no longer sees me as an equal specifically due to my bipolar depression. I feel ashamed of putting all of this out there, but again, I have reached an apex.

Your support—any amount at all—would mean something I cannot articulate.

I am also a very creative, resourceful person and am more than happy to return something to you & pay it forward by way of musical and artistic projects, jewelry-making, skillshares, content editing, even teaching/tutoring Latin via over 9 years of advanced courses, and more.  I love to write/edit, organize/create/curate digital databases, research, advocate and make things happen by phone, be a sober pal (3+ years now!); you name it and I’ll find a way, directly or otherwise.

Thank you a million times over.
