Guelph's Syrian Refugee Support

Donation protected
This money will be directly donated to the Guelph Refugee Lifeline program as supported by the Muslim Society of Guelph which supports families just like the Dudus who have come to Canada to start a new life!

About the Muslim Society of Guelph & the Refugee Lifeline:
MSOG has partnered with IFT (SAH) as a Constituent Group and Mr. Jim Estill, President & CEO of Danby Products Ltd. as a private sponsor to bring 50 Syrian Refugee Families to Guelph.

You can be part of this historic event by making donations to the MSOG. Proceeds from the fund will be used to facilitate the arrival and settlement of 300 Syrian refugees as permanent residents of Canada with the help of private sponsors.

All net proceeds of sponsorship donations, which are received by MSOG for Refugee Lifeline, will be used to sponsor and settle privately-sponsored Syrian refugees through a registered Canadian charity that is engaged with sponsoring and settling refugees in the Guelph. The MSOG will charge a management fee of 0% to hold and disburse the funds. All net proceeds from the fund will be used towards the settlement of refugee families in Guelph

On Sunday September 25th a Syrian Refugee named Ibrahim Halil Dudu helped save a wedding from a crisis.
Having only been in Canada for 4 days he did the most Canadian thing he could have done, and offered his services as a tailor to a bride in need, asking nothing in return.

Mr. Dudu has said that he felt honoured to help out a fellow Canadian as he has been given such a warm welcome from his host-family and our country.

You can read more of this story here: www.ctvnews.ca/canada/syrian-tailor-living-in-canada-for-just-4-days-saves-wedding-1.3091569

The Dudus have made international headlines for his generosity however there are still challenging times ahead for their family before they can become fully independent Canadian citizens.

My name is Lindsay and I was the photographer who captured the images of Mr. Dudu selflessly helping Jo on her wedding day. I would love to be able to return the favour to the Dudus & their fellow Syrians and show them that Canada is proud to have them here and would love to take care of them.

The Dudu family are not alone. Since the Canadian Government's 2015 commitment to resettle Syrians we have seen over 30,000 families seek refuge in Canada. Of these families over 11,000 of them are supported through personal funds of their "sponsor families". The Dudu family's hosts renovated their entire home to provide living space - this was just the beginning of many costs incurred to help our Syrian neighbours.

Please imagine yourself in the position of the Dudu family and the many others just like them, and know that your money will be given to very deserving people. Thank you so much for considering donating, it will truly mean the world to this family and the others impacted by your donations.

Please note that ALL funds raised will go directly to providing support to refugee families living in Guelph and surrounding areas which include, but aren't limited to the Dudu family. Once we have raised our goal we will withdraw the money and write a cheque for the exact amount raised to the Muslim Society of Guelph's Refugee Life Line.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send me a message.
